An uncommon edition Illustrated with 8 color plates and numerous line drawings by J. H. Owen. The classic Grimm's tale is illustrated with the rats attired in elegant Japanese style. Professionally rebound, appearance matching the first edition but with darker blue cloth and lacking the gilt rules around the covor plate. Pages are unevenly toned but the overall effect is very good and the bright plates are in fine condition. No name or bookplates. Item #37134
